It's a Bug's Life!

Pond Springs students explored the tiny world of insects using the microscope adapters on our Samsung document cameras.  They were able to zoom in on dragonfly wings and honeybee stingers, as well as other small things on Family Science Night.

Celebrations!

Our Third Graders learned about ways in which people in different cultures celebrate with their loved ones using the Pond Springs Research Resources page.  Along the way, they also learned about online research, taking notes, acceptable internet use and copyright agreements!

Baby It's Cold Outside!

Pond Springs Third Graders use the Vernier Go! Temperature Probes and Logger Pro software to graph the temperature of water before and after ice cubes are added.

Pond Springs teachers use technology to explore butterfly life cycles

Teachers at Pond Springs Elementary used technology to help students discover the wonders of the natural world.  Craig Lee, known as the Butterfly Man, donated milkweed plants with caterpillars and eggs to interested classrooms so that students could observe the Monarch Butterfly metamorphosis.  Document cameras and projectors allowed teachers to project the image so the whole class could see the transformation!
